Kelley Dilworth, President
A longtime patron of the arts, Kelley has over 25 years of community service, event planning and fundraising experience under her belt. She studied Arts Management at UMass Amherst, Art and Art History at Harford Community College, and Studio Arts at the Institute of Notre Dame, where she still serves as her Class Agent.
Currently she is working as the Arts Contributor and Social Media Consultant for Dilpatrick Media, a “location independent” media and marketing company founded by her daughter and son-in-law. Kelley also serves as the Vice President on the Baltimore Museum of Art’s Modern & Contemporary Board and is the Chair of their Programming Committee.
Kelley is an active member of the local arts community here in Harford County and has been appointed Vice Chair of the Harford County Cultural Arts Board. She was the Co-Chair for one of the largest fundraisers in Harford County, the annual 'Dancing for the Arts' gala,while working with Center for the Arts from 2009 to 2014. Kelley is also happy to volunteer each year with The Town of Bel Air Film Festival.
Born and raised in Baltimore City and a 20+ year resident of the mostly rural western part of Harford County, Kelley relates to and understands the cultural needs of these two very different types of communities. She is always eager to share her energy, ideas and provide her unique perspective to BOOM.
Paul "Chuck" Bowden
Chuck is the head of the drama program at Bel Air High School and is also the Director of the Bel Air Drama Company at the school. A graduate of West Virgina University with a BFA in theatre and the College of Notre Dame in Maryland with a Master's in Education, Chuck has been involved with the educational theatre programs in Harford County for over 20 years. At Bel Air, Chuck also works as the Technical Director and Scenic Designer. For the past eight years, he has organized the North East Theatre Festival, a regional gathering of drama students, colleges and professionals from around the area. Chuck is an adjunct faculty member of the Theatre Division at Harford Community College and had worked as a Technical Director and Designer for several community theatres around the region.
Laura Hutton was born and raised in Harford County. She has an M. S. in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University and is an Associate Professor at Harford Community College. Laura has a passion for reaching out to underserved populations, especially underserved youth, and making a theater experience available and accessible to all. She is proud to be a part of creative, smart, and challenging theater in Harford County.
Oh yea, and she is the mother to SEVEN children!
Adrienne DeRan, Vice President
Adrienne has a B.A. from Tulane University where, among other things, she learned to weld and blow glass. After completing her undergraduate degree, she attended the Harford Community College Building Preservation and Restoration Program to expand her knowledge of historic structures and their construction. She has enjoyed work as a construction Project Manager on a variety of projects, and has recently been commissioned to produce large fiberglass hearts for a public art project. She is on the Boards of The Steppingstone Museum (www.steppingstonemuseum.org), the Historical Society of Harford County, and serves on the Town of Bel Air's Cultural Arts Commission. She lives in a strawbale house in Northern Harford County with her husband, two children, rather large cat, and thousands of honeybees (in hives).
A proponent of creativity in most all forms, Adrienne had brief stints on stage in 3rd and 4th grade in the elementary school Recorder Ensemble and as Sharky Purple in the musical, The Colors of Life. Thankfully, she has not been encouraged to reprise these roles since the age of majority.
Judy Scott, Secretary
Judy is a native New Yorker. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, City University of New York, in 1983 with a degree in Drama, Theatre. Judy moved to Harford County Maryland in 1993. She has worked as a Sr. Claims Examiner for Harford Mutual Insurance Company since 1999. Judy has been involved in various Community Theatre productions in Harford County and also dances with The Part Two Dance Company. Judy has been involved with BOOM almost since its' inception and is a proud Board Member. She is extremely excited about the growth and positive affect BOOM has made in the Community. She is most grateful for the love and support of her family.
