FREE Classes

Classes are scheduled to suit the needs of each individual class, and students with special needs can be accomodated. To date, over seven hundred students in Harford County have taken a free BOOM class. 

These classes are available for all students in Harford County-area schools, including HCPS, Harford Community College, homeschooling groups, and private schools.  Every class can accomodate students with disabilities, including limited mobility. With advance notice, we can better prepare our workshop to suit the needs of your class.

Elementary/Middle School

Improvisation and Theatre Games

Enjoy the art of storytelling and spontaneous creativity with this fun 45-minute exercise. Students will work together to bring stories to life, and will play together in our series of theatre games designed with your class in mind.
Requirements: An indoor space with ample room for movement. A gymnasium or large stage are ideal.
Class size: Up to 25.

High School/College

The Roth Workshop

Blending dance movement, personal interview, and improvisation, this 45-minute exercise will promote vulnerability and collaboration within the participating group. 
Requirements: Two AC power outlets, an indoor space with an open floor and ample room for dance movement. A gymnasium or large stage are ideal.
Class size: Up to 25.

Auditions for Actors

An overview of the casting process, and how an actor should prepare for the various types of auditions held in the Baltimore area. Flexible timing. 
Requirements: Two AC power outlets, an indoor space. A classroom is ideal.
Class size: No limit.

Theatre After High School

Learn how to select a college program and discuss the different career paths available for a theatre artist after graduating from high school. Flexible timing.
Requirements: Two AC power outlets, an indoor space. A classroom is ideal.
Class size: No limit.

Theatre After College

Prepare for your career as a theatre artist after graduating form college. This discussion will compare the theatre markets in the US, and outline the necessity for continuing education.
Requirements: Two AC power outlets, an indoor space. A classroom is ideal. 
Class size: No limit.
